I've been listening to a teleconference site that had 80 illuminaries giving talks on various subjects. One is this fellow offering "The Sedona Method", which I had never heard of before. Anyone else? It's a pretty simple method about letting go - letting go of old beliefs that are no longer serving us. I was a little skeptical, but hey, anything that helps bring some internal peace or relief of stress is worth exploring to me.
My favorite way, of course, to find relief is to play tennis every day. Looking out my office window I notice dark blue clouds dotting the sky in between the tree branches - quite beautiful. The impending possibility of rain however is a conflict. We need the rain, but I wish it could somehow miss the tennis courts. They seem to take forever to dry off. I seem fortunate to live in an area that stays relatively dry. Looking forward to my tennis game tomorrow....
A way to speak from our common ground rather than from our differences. A four step process, used in two ways. Simple? Yes. Easy? Not always. Effective? Very as it offers choice and an ability to respond rather than react.

What's important?
Ever notice how what's so important in one moment, becomes a blip on your screen at another moment? I think what creates this ever changing scale of importance is the story we are telling ourselves. I am surprised how I can feel spacious and relaxed as I travel in my car one time and the next I am uptight and yelling at everyone to get out of my way... don't they know who I am? When I'm telling myself I am late and I have to get there right now... tension, clenched teeth, bad karma!!! On the other hand, if I hear, "relax you're early", I sense a calmness in my body and an easy pace in my driving and attitude. Oh to remember this at the time I am uptight and simply change my story. Kinda like changing the radio station when I am not enjoying what I am hearing and keep searching until I hear something that is more positive or pleasant. Mostly if I can remember to say the word "compassion" it is a touchstone for me to come present and be at choice. Anyone else have a way you like to remind yourself of what I can your "humanness"?

Restorative Circles
Restorative Circles is a new community supported way to resolve conflicts. If we believe only the folks involved in the offense are affected, maybe we need to look again. As a community we can all take responsibility for not only looking at the effects but deal with the cause and help each other. Want to know more???
